Apple

Apple is the hi-tech company headquartered in Cupertino, California, manufacturer of iPhone, Mac, iPad, iPod, Apple Watch and Apple TV.

Its logo is a bitten apple present on all its devices, which are based on the iOS operating system. The applications for iOS can be found on the App Store, a virtual store from which you can download software and games developed by Apple developers for free or for a fee.

Founded in April 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne as a small PC sales and development firm, it became Apple Computer Inc a year later and is publicly traded by early 80’s.

The first Apple computer was called the Apple I, followed by the Apple II and Apple III. But the Apple revolution dates back to 1984 when the first Macintosh 128k went on sale, characterized by a graphical interface with easy to understand icons and 128kb of memory.

Apple becomes a leader in the technology sector, competing with Microsoft, thanks to the launch of numerous innovations. In 1998 the iMac was released, followed by the iBook, the portable PC with wireless technology. In the 2000s, Mac OS X, the first iPod and the iTunes Music Store were born, but it was in 2007 with the release of the first iPhone that Apple introduced a new way of telephoning and conceiving mobile. We are currently stuck on the 7th generation of iPhone (iPhone 7).

Today the CEO of Apple is Tim Cook, who took over after the death of Steve Jobs in 2011.

In 2017, Apple will launch the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iOS 11.
