Milton Friedman (Brooklyn, July 31, 1912 - San Francisco, November 16, 2006) was an American economist, from the neoliberal area, leading exponent of the Chicago school. His thinking and his studies have influenced many economic theories, especially in the monetary field. Founder of monetarist thinking, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1976.
