The Red Sea is a sea in the Middle East nestled between Northeast Africa (Egypt, Somalia and Eritrea) and the southern Arabian Peninsula; thanks to the Suez Canal it is now also connected to the Mediterranean, while the Strait of Bab el-Mandeb guarantees an outlet to the Indian Ocean.
In addition to being famous for its tourist resorts, the Red Sea is a crucial hub of world trade given the many ships that travel through the Suez Canal between Asia and Europe and vice versa.
