Roaming

Roaming is the ability of cell phones and smartphones to connect to networks other than their own operator when abroad.

Roaming has costs that affect calls, SMS and Internet data traffic, but it can also be disabled from the Settings of any smartphone and tablet.

Currently, thanks to the EU battle against the large telephone companies to reduce the increased costs incurred by those who travel abroad, roaming costs are lower than in the past. By June 2017, Italy will say goodbye to roaming, so those who go on holiday abroad in one of the EU member countries will be able to call, surf and send SMS at the same rate as their national subscription.
