For the final announcement of the year, Apple might introduce a new line of their main computers: the Mac Pro and Macbook. Both will se an improvement in design and performances.

New Macbook Pro and Mac Pro could be announced in October

After the September announcement of the iPhone 14, new Apple products may be warming for future releases. The Silicon Valley giant announced that in October there will be another event, which will most likely see the announcement of a new line of Apple computers.

On the line, there is a new version of the Mac Pro brewing. Apple has a tradition of changing their hardwares after a couple of generations, and this time there could be a development of the M2 Pro. Indeed, the new Mac Pro could run on two M2 Ultra Chips, a configuration named M2 Extreme. These, however, are only rumors. No matter the hardware development, the new Mac Pro will likely have a new display as well, with much better performances.

Cupertino might also launch a new line of Macbook Pro computers, with improved M2 chips as well. The new notebooks could use a new M2 Max configuration, both for the 14-inch and 16-inch (these are the expected new sizes). New Macbook Pros will also have a new design, adding a notch on the top of the screen (iPhone-like), being flatter than ever and, finally, reviving some connection ports like HDMI.

This would be a major (and very much welcomed) comeback from Apple, which decided to drastically cut away the connection ports some generations ago.

Other new likely products

This year many Apple products will retain the M2s, even though we might have to wait for 2023 for the 3nm chips to arrive. In any case, the new Mac Pro and Macbook Pro will probably be the highlight of October’s announcement, but far from the only ones. Some other gear that Tim Cook will likely announce next month include:

  • New iPad Pro, which will also finally include M2 chips inside and expand from a 11-inch to a 12.9-inch screen;
  • New Mac Mini, which still has not upgraded to M2 and likely will this year. The first Mac Mini with M1 had been released two years ago in 2020;
  • New iPad, which would mark the 10th generation of such a product. So far, it’s the only Apple component that has not changed much in appearance, retaining its home button and large bezels, which might however be redimensioned this year;
  • Apple Reality Headset. Finally, this could be the year for a completely new product altogether, one that has been rumored for years. The Apple Reality Headset would mark a milestone in the Metaverse era, and will likely be felt on the market for years to come.
