The composition of the Oracle of Omaha’s Portfolio was updated to June 30 and disclosed through the filing of the regulatory document in which the acquisition and sale of shares in the period April-June of this year are recorded. Ulta Beauty is the new kid on the block, which has caught Berkshire’s attention in the most recent quarter. The conglomerate opened a position in the beauty products supplier, albeit a relatively small one, of 690,000 shares.

The position is worth about $266 million as of June 30. The beauty company’s shares jumped 14% in after-hours trading Wednesday after the stake was disclosed.

Buffett also bought about 1 million shares of Heico Corp., whose stock rose nearly 4% in after-hours trading. The billionaire investor bought just over 1 million shares. The industrial parts maker has been a long-term winner, and Berkshire’s new stake totaled more than $185 million as of June 30.

In the second quarter, Berkshire added another 4.3% to its recently disclosed stake in insurance giant Chubb. Buffett continued to increase his position in Liberty Sirius XM (media and entertainment) Series A and C. His stake in the A shares rose more than 7% and in the C shares by nearly 7%. The combined stake was worth about $2.3 billion at the end of June.

Berkshire also slightly increased its stake in Occidental Petroleum during the second quarter, up 3%.

Finally, the holding company significantly increased its relatively small position in satellite radio leader Sirius XM, increasing its stake by about 262%, to nearly 133 million shares.

Buffett sold these shares between April and June

Buffett and his associates drastically reduced their stake in Apple, Berkshire’s largest holding, reducing it by more than 49% during the second quarter. Berkshire sold about 389 million shares and now holds exactly 400 million shares worth more than $84 billion at the end of June.

The holding company closed its stake in Paramount Global during the second quarter, after cutting it by more than 88% in the first quarter.

Buffett fully liquidated his stake in Snowflake, a cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) company, in the second quarter. He sold more than 6.1 million shares.

Among other notable stake reductions, Berkshire sold nearly 4.3 million shares in Chevron Corp.. Despite the sale, Chevron’s weight in the portfolio rose to 6.6% as of June 30, up from 5.8% at the end of the first quarter.

The company also divested 2.6 million shares of Capital One, just over 800,000 shares of Floor & Decor, and about 570,000 shares of T-Mobile.

  • Coca-Cola (KO) – $25.5 billion
  • Chevron (CVX) – $18.6 billion

In summary, during the period, Buffett sold shares worth $77.2 billion and bought only $1.6 billion.
