Saudi Arabia’s Mohammad bin Salman is considered one of the most powerful leaders in the world, with a massive net worth to sustain a ludicrous vision.

The Cruel Oil Sheik: Mohammad bin Salman Net Worth and Unlimited Power Explained

Schemes, power and riches beyond any human comprehension. Mohammad bin Salman is the cruel leader of Saudi Arabia, whose geopolitical importance makes him one of the world’s richest and most powerful men. MBS’ net worth is nothing to shy away from, and allows him basically unlimited control over Saudi Arabia.

MBS is technically the Crown Prince, heir to the throne of Saudi Arabia, though he has been the de facto ruler of the country since 2015. His father, King Salman, is 88 years old and initially ceded executive power to his first son Muhammad bin Nayef. In 2012, however, Nayef died prematurely, leaving his role to Salman.

Since then, Mohammad bin Salman tried to maintain Saudi Arabia as the lynchpin of the global economic system. Saudi Arabia has the second largest reserve and is the largest exporter of crude oil in the world.

Every major economy, from China to the United States, rely at least in part on Saudi oil. This incredible power made every country forget about Saudi Arabia’s murderous regime, turning a blind eye to most of its crimes against humanity.

For example, Saudi Arabia (already under the rule of MBS) invaded the neighboring country of Yemen in 2015. Estimates place the civilian death toll to over 370.000, while 4 million people have been displaced from their homes.

And yet, no sanction has been issued against Saudi Arabia. In fact, since the war in Ukraine started, western leaders have tried to increase cooperation with the Arabic country.

Mohammad bin Salman net worth and vision

Given his position as the “world’s balance”, Mohammad bin Salman has sought to expand his country’s capabilities. He is aware that oil will eventually run out or become an obsolete resource, and so is trying to diversify the Saudi economy.

He envisions the construction of NEOM, a large economic area on the Saudi shores fueled by renewable power. According to Salman, this $500 billion project will replace oil as Saudi Arabia’s only source of power and wealth.

Many believe that NEOM is just a pipe dream fueled by unconstrained power. The project is supposed to end in 2030 but no real plans have been laid out yet.

Nevertheless, Salman managed to convince the most influential people on the globe to invest in NEOM, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Mohammad bin Salman net worth of $5 billion likely got massively invested into the project. In fact, it is believed that, when MBS’ brother died, he inherited a net worth of $10 billion along with the position of heir.

Nevertheless, MBS net worth and position still make him one of the most influential people in the world. It is hard to know if and when his power will decline, if it will be because of less oil being used or because of his absurd vision. For now, Mohammad bin Salman will keep dining with powerful global leaders, without a single worry in the world.
