Twitter is ready to launch the new subscription from Monday December 12th. Here’s what it’s for and how much it will cost for users.
After a few failed attempts, the Twitter company, now owned by Elon Musk, is ready to launch its new social platform subscription on Monday, December 12: Twitter Blue.
A new offer that will be more expensive for users with Apple devices. Twitter Blue is nothing but the updated version and - definitively - improved of the subscription presented by Elon Musk a few days after his arrival on Twitter. The subscription originally had the aim of "democratizing" the "blue check", the one reserved for celebrities and companies, which would be granted to anyone who decided to subscribe.
A choice that has repeatedly embarrassed the platform. In fact, shortly after the launch of the subscription, Twitter had ended up certifying - assigning the desired blue check - to a series of fake accounts of famous brands, including those of its own companies: Space X and Tesla.
For these reasons, the project had been put on hold and, after carefully rescheduling it for the end of November, with the intention of finding a solution to correctly identify fake accounts. Now it seems that the subscription is ready and from tomorrow - December 12th - users will be able to subscribe to the registration and obtain numerous benefits. Here’s how Twitter Blue works, how much it costs and what it’s for.
Twitter subscription: what is it for
Twitter Blue has officially launched two days ago - Monday December 12th. The subscription that in the past caused so much discussion, now seems to have reached a better version, guaranteeing performance and benefits to users.
In fact, those who decide to subscribe to Twitter Blue will be able to obtain the much desired blue tick after verification - as the group specifies - and will be able to access the function to correct tweets that have already been published, in addition the possibility of being able to download better quality videos
Furthermore, in order to be able to distinguish subscribers from government bodies, Twitter has foreseen a series of changes and precautions, in fact the check will become gold for companies and after a few days, the blue check of government organizations will be converted to a grey tick.
In making the announcement, Elon Musk’s platform also specified that subscribers will have the opportunity to see their posts "valued" and will be able to see less advertising.
Twitter subscription: how does it work?
If you want to access the advantages and benefits guaranteed by the Twitter Blue subscription, it will certainly be useful to know how the subscription works and how to activate it.
As explained by the platform itself, a few steps will be enough to activate the subscription. In fact, users who have an account will only have to access the platform, and select the profile menu from the app or go to the twitter.com site.
At this point, in the profile menu, it should be possible to find the Twitter Blue option, then just select the blue button Sign up for $/month and make the in-app payment for iOS and Android.
Twitter subscription: how much does it cost
Not all users will pay the same amount to get the Twitter Blue subscription. In fact, the subscription will have two different prices depending on which device the user has.
Apple users will have a higher price than users with Android smartphones. In fact, if for the latter the price will be $8, for Apple users the price will be $11. Elon Musk has not provided any explanation for the increase in the cost.
According to some US media, the reason behind this choice is purely economic. It would, in fact, be a move to contain the costs charged to Twitter by the Apple App Store.
