Claudio Lotito is a Roman entrepreneur born in 1957, owner of several companies operating in the cleaning and security sectors. His popularity, however, is due to his entry into the world of football in 2004.
In that year, Lotito became the new president of Lazio, immediately establishing himself as one of the key figures in Italian football, so much so that he also became a Federal Councillor of the FIGC. Since 2011, together with his brother-in-law Marco Mezzaroma, he has also owned Salernitana.
In the 2018 political elections he was a candidate for the Senate in Campania among the ranks of Forza Italia, but was not elected due to a mechanism in the electoral law, with the issue still being affected by a series of appeals.
