Elon Musk is a naturalized American South African entrepreneur, co-founder of PayPal (PYPL), and founder of Tesla Motors (TSLA) and SpaceX.
He is on the list of 10 highest paid entrepreneurs in the world in 2017 with an estimated turnover of $ 75 million and a personal wealth of $ 19.4 billion (as of 04/19/2018)
Born in 1971, Elon Musk was born in Pretoria (South Africa) and grew up with a passion for electronics and science fiction. In 1999 he co-founded X.com, an online financial services and email payments company that later merged with Cofinity to form PayPal.
But in recent years Musk has become known for Tesla Motors, an electric vehicle company of which he is CEO.
Elon Musk’s projects in the pipeline include SpaceX, a company that designs and builds space rocket launchers and aims to colonize Mars; SolarCity (products and services related to photovoltaics) and Hyperloop (hyper-fast capsule transport system for now only theoretical).
Elon Musk has also invested in molecular biology with Halcyon Molecular and in neuroscience with Neuralink, which works on developing a connector tissue to connect the human brain to the computer.
