The European Parliament is the legislative assembly of the European Union. It performs a supervisory function and is the only European institution to be directly elected by its citizens. Together with the Council of the European Union, it constitutes one of the two chambers that exercise legislative power in the Union.
It meets in Brussels, Strasbourg and Luxembourg.
