Giorgia Meloni is the founder and president of the Fratelli d’Italia party, current Prime Minister at the helm of a centre-right government after the victory of the coalition in the elections of 25 September 2022 .
Born in Rome on 15 January 1977, Giorgia Meloni joined the then Youth Front at the age of 15. Then passed under the banner of the National Alliance, in 2006 she was elected deputy and also held the position of Minister of Youth between 2008 and 2011.
After having merged into the unitary project of the People of Freedom, after its dissolution it founded Fratelli d’Italia and has since held the position of president. In the 2016 local elections in Rome she was a candidate without however managing to reach the run-off.
