Leonardo Del Vecchio

Leonardo Del Vecchio, born in 1935, is an Italian entrepreneur, founder and chairman of Luxottica (LUX), as well as the richest shareholder of Borsa Italiana (2017).

The group is the world’s largest manufacturer and seller of eyeglasses and lenses, with a total of 77,734 employees and over 7,000 stores. Del Vecchio has an estimated net worth of $21.9 billion (as of January 2018), a figure that makes him the second richest man in Italy and the 45th richest in the world (May 2018).
