Spotify

Spotify is a platform for listening to music songs and albums streamed on demand from PCs, smartphones and tablets. The user can access the catalog and listen to the desired songs, also creating playlists, without having to download or purchase them in online stores such as iTunes.

Spotify is a freemium service: it provides a free basic plan characterized by the presence of advertising interruptions and some limitations for users, and a paid plan (Spotify Premium) which among the many functions allows listening offline, song download, better audio quality and is ad-free.

Launched in October 2008 by Swedish startup Spotify AB, Spotify today has over 75 million users worldwide. The headquarters is in London and is Spotify Ltd, while the research and development department remained in Stockholm.

Its economic model is based on the financing of subscriptions, from advertisements that appear to free users and from music purchases in partner stores.
