Heritage and biography Michael Bloomberg, the entrepreneur and politician who after being mayor of New York in 2020 also attempted to climb the White House.
How much does Michael Bloomberg earn? This is an absolutely legitimate question given that, according to the 2023 ranking drawn up by Forbes, we are talking about what would be the seventh richest person in the world.
According to the prestigious American magazine, Bloomberg could count on personal assets equal to 94.5 billion dollars by 2023, almost double the estimate made by Forbes in 2019.
Michael Bloomberg built his fortune thanks to the financial services, software and mass media company of the same name, of which he was the CEO until his descent into politics: from 2002 to 2013, in fact, he was the mayor of New York, then running for the Democratic primaries in 2020 in view of the presidential elections.
However, the race for the White House did not go well, with the entrepreneur who in the middle of the primaries decided to withdraw and support Joe Biden; unlike the other aspiring candidates, he completely financed his electoral campaign on his own with the flop at the polls which cost the tycoon a small drain.
Despite the large amount of money spent out of pocket on the occasion of the 2020 primaries, Michael Bloomberg has increased his assets in recent years with the pandemic which does not seem to have affected his business.

The candidacy for the US elections 2020
Michael Bloomberg built his fortune thanks to his company of the same name, for years a world leader in the mass media in the financial data sector, but he also became famous for his political commitment.
Belonging initially to the Republican Party, among whose ranks he was elected for the first time mayor of New York in 2002 and then held the position until 2013, he then paraded as an independent candidate in the following elections.
In fact, the tycoon had always been considered an anomalous republican, given his positions in in favor of abortion and the rights of the LGBT community as well as a vehement ostracism towards the spread of weapons.
In 2018 he joined the Democrats instead, which immediately made him think of his candidacy in the primaries for the choice of candidate for president. After a series of denials, he finally made his presence official in these primaries.
Already in 2016 Michael Bloomberg had been very close to standing in the presidential elections as independent. After Hillary Clinton’s victory in the primaries, however, she decided to take a step back so as not to remove precious votes from the former first lady, thus effectively favoring the little loved Donald Trump.
A similar decision was also made in 2020, with the billionaire choosing to retire after taking part in only the Super Tuesday with limited results, then backing the future president Joe Biden.
