A world divided: the U.S. dominates the Americas, Russia takes Europe, and China rules the Pacific. Is this the new global order Donald Trump is quietly shaping for Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping?

Trump, Putin, and Xi Redraw the Map: From Panama to Ukraine to Taiwan, the New Global Power Game

Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Xi Jinping—leaders of the three major world powers (with India waiting in the wings)—could soon divide the globe into their respective spheres of influence, all in pursuit of what truly matters to them: business.

It may sound like the plot of a Hollywood thriller, but across the Atlantic, several analysts are beginning to connect the dots Trump has been laying down since his return to the White House, especially after his clash with Volodymyr Zelensky.

When the war in Ukraine erupted, many saw it as an attempt by Russia and China to dismantle the world order that has remained firmly in Washington’s hands for nearly a century.

In response, the United States seemingly endorsed a proxy war in Ukraine—an effort to weaken Moscow and, by extension, its Chinese ally. If that was the strategy, something clearly did not go as planned.

Now, however, the dynamics appear to be shifting dramatically. Even before his televised confrontation with Zelensky, Trump had already delivered a few “slaps” to the Ukrainian leader while reserving his affections not just for Putin, but also for Xi, the very figure he once framed as America’s greatest adversary.

After all, why wage military and economic wars when the major powers could simply negotiate a new global order together?

Trump and the New World Order with Russia and China

Donald Trump seems far less interested in promoting democracy worldwide and far more focused on national security and securing lucrative business deals—even with those traditionally viewed as America’s adversaries.

Once the Ukraine issue is settled—Zelensky, after his defiant stance in the Oval Office, now appears ready to concede, realizing that without Uncle Sam, neither he nor his country have much of a future—Trump will have little choice but to either withdraw from NATO or reshape the alliance’s mission.

At that point, a de facto division of global influence could emerge: the Americas under U.S. control, Europe leaning toward Russia, and the Pacific dominated by China.

Despite recent trade agreements, Trump has shown little interest in defending Taiwan at all costs, while his intent to disengage from Ukraine is now evident. At the same time, however, his administration appears keen on regaining control of the Panama Canal, purchasing Greenland, and perhaps even pursuing annexation of Canada.

In this geopolitical game of Risk, what would be the fate of Europe? Trump has imposed harsher tariffs on the EU than on China, while Elon Musk has been actively boosting right-wing, anti-establishment parties across the continent.

This appears to be part of a broader strategy to economically and socially weaken Europe, pushing it toward decline, geopolitical irrelevance, and internal instability—turning it into an easy target due to its long-standing dependence on raw material imports.

The new world order could thus be shaped by a once-unthinkable triumvirate, a future that increasingly resembles a dystopian novel.
