From the stage of AI Forward 2023, organized by Goldman Sachs and Sv Angle, Gates predicted that generative artificial intelligence will revolutionize the world and not even giants like Google and Amazon will be immune from this subversion of the network: "It will be an epochal upheaval: whoever will be the first to create a personal assistant with artificial intelligence will ensure that no one will ever go to a search engine, a productivity site, Amazon".
Indeed, the business model of these companies is based on parameters that are about to be outdated, due to the new generative artificial intelligence – such as ChatGPT – which will be the basis of new "artificial assistants" that they will be able to answer all our questions bypassing the classic search engines.

At the moment, explains Gates, these new tools have not yet been incorporated into user research everyday experiences, but when this happens, truly intelligent personal digital assistants will be created and ready to serve us and anticipate every need.
Such a figure will understand a person’s needs and habits and help them "read the things you don’t have time to read". Every piece of information and every product we are looking for in such an efficient way that "we will never go to a search engine again, we will never go to Amazon again".
Indeed, according to the founder of Microsoft, the impact of such a novelty will be so strong that the first company to develop it will have an advantage over its competitors.
There is a 50% chance that it will be either a startup from the Silicon Valley or a technology giant, says Gates: "I would be disappointed if Microsoft did not enter this business, but I am impressed by a couple of startups, including InflectionAI".
It will still take some time but, according to the philanthropist, they will continue incorporating so-called generative AI technologies similar to OpenAI’s popular ChatGPT into their products.
