Carlos Tavares is a Portuguese but now French-adopted business executive, currently CEO of PSA but now close to taking on the same role also in FCA-PSA, a new giant in the auto sector born from the merger between the two groups.
Tavares had previously been the architect of the rescue from the imminent bankruptcy of the group that owns Peugeot and Citroen, which he had subsequently strengthened with the acquisition of the German Opel.
After the merger between FCA and PSA, Carlos Tavares will be at the helm of what will become the fourth largest car manufacturer in the world with 184 billion in annual revenues and 410,000 workers located all over the globe.
