IBAN

The IBAN code stands for Internal Bank Account Number - Numero Interno di Conto Bancario.
The IBAN has become the only standard for current account identification and the execution of national payments regardless of the amount of such transfers and in accordance with European regulations.
Since 2008 it has replaced the old bank coordinates, these are a standardized set of digits and letters that have the function of identifying a given correspondent current account.
The first two letters of the IBAN indicate the country, followed by two international control numbers, a letter for national verification, the old CID, and then the ten digits of the Abi and Cab codes, and the twelve with the current account number. In total, the IBAN is made up of 27 characters.
