Revenue Agency

The Agenzia delle Entrate is an Italian public agency which carries out functions relating to the management, assessment and litigation of taxes with the aim of pursuing the highest level of compliance with tax obligations by taxpaying citizens.

The Revenue Agency, operational since January 1, 2001, was born from the reorganization of the Financial Administration following the Legislative Decree No. 300 of 1999.
It has its own statute and specific regulations governing administration and accounting.

The Inland Revenue is subject to the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which is responsible for the political direction, and is endowed with regulatory, administrative, patrimonial, organizational, accounting and financial autonomy.
