Stock market

The stock market is the "place" where stocks are traded and traded.

The term stock market does not define so much a physical place as a network of sellers and buyers who negotiate the shares, that is, shares of the capital of one or more listed companies.

The stock market can be of two types. When we talk about the primary market we mean the one on which the newly issued securities (shares) are traded. If, on the other hand, we are talking about the secondary market, we are referring to the one on which the securities already in circulation trade.

The Italian one is the electronic stock market (MTA), which, like the others, is divided by company capitalization (value of shares multiplied by their number on the market).

Remember that the stock market has very precise opening and closing times. In the Italian case there are three time slots to keep in mind:

- * Auction opening: 08: 00-09: 00
- * Continuous trading: 09: 00-17: 30
- * Auction closing: 17: 30-17: 35
