In addition to the new smartphone, technology enthusiasts will soon find even more modern and innovative versions of Apple’s most popular devices on the market, including AirPods and Apple Watch. As a result, the production stop of outdated phones, headphones, and smartwatches will soon be announced, also because they are expected to be sold at significantly lower prices.
As soon as the new devices are available, which is very soon for the iPhone, their predecessors will no longer be produced and it will be possible to buy them until stocks run out. Apple has not announced its intention to withdraw them from the market, but they will stop receiving updates at a certain point.
This not only entails limitations in the user experience but also in the security of the smartphone. Typically, however, security updates are extended to allow users to use the devices at least for the estimated lifespan of the devices. Here are the Apple products that will be affected by the production stop.
Stop the production of these iPhones
With the release of the iPhone 16, it is reasonable to assume that Apple will stop producing the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, about a year after their introduction, just as happened with the company’s latest releases. At the same time, a stop to the iPhone 14 Plus is also likely, designed as an entry-level product that would no longer make sense to market, thus keeping the iPhone 14 on the market for a while longer.
With these changes, we will certainly also have to say goodbye to the oldest phone still sold by Apple, namely the iPhone 13. Almost 3 years after its release, it makes sense to expect that the role of the oldest device will soon be filled by the iPhone 14. We must also consider the numerous price variations that the phone has undergone in recent years, today it is not difficult to find, between discounts and offers, even at half the launch price.
Goodbye to these Apple Watches
The new generation of Apple Watch should be released in the fall, now one of the company’s flagship products, which is preparing to introduce some innovations. For the series 10, in addition to an overall improvement in functionality, a larger screen and a lighter case are expected, similar to what happens with phones.
According to some rumors, unconfirmed, Apple should also simultaneously launch an update for the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and introduce a revisited SE 3 in a cheaper key than the previous ones, with the plastic case. At the same time, the production of the 9, Ultra, and SE 2 series should be discontinued.

The AirPods that will no longer be produced
As anticipated, the release of the new AirPods is also expected soon and this could be the opportunity to put an end to the production of the older models. Despite the release of the AirPods 3 in 2021, Apple has continued to produce and sell the AirPods 2. The latter, therefore, seems destined to disappear from the company’s repertoire.
That’s not all, because, with the release of the AirPods 4, two different device models should arrive on the market, one mid-range and one cheaper. This will allow the company to meet the needs of users but renew its range, so it is plausible that the AirPods 3 will no longer be produced.
iPads soon to be discontinued
In October, the cheapest iPads, namely the mini 6 and 10, will receive the update. With the release of the iPad 11th generation, however, Apple should not extend the production of the previous series much longer, today available at a cost of around 350 euros, no longer sustainable.
For this, however, it is still necessary to wait a little while, while we do not expect any imminent changes regarding the mini and Pro series, especially since the new iPad Pro was presented last May in two versions.
