Fortnite is a multiplatform survival shooter video game developed in 2017 by Epic Games. The game is available for free download on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Android and iOS mobile devices.
The game features two distinct modes: "Save the World" and "Battle Royale." The former is a cooperative survival mode, in which teams of up to four players must overcome incredible threats and challenges to achieve victory.
The Battle Royale mode features a true free-for-all war in arenas with 100 players ready to battle it out to the last blow. The game also features skins, accessories, and rare items that enhance the player’s chosen character’s appearance and abilities. Real-world purchases and microtransactions are also available for rarer upgrades.
Fortnite is currently a global phenomenon, having surpassed GTA Online in terms of active users and surpassed one hundred million players worldwide.
