Charles III is the king of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of the other fourteen Commonwealth realms. Eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Philip of Edinburgh, he belongs to the House of Windsor, which maintained this name by royal decree even after his mother’s marriage.
