Bills are invoices issued on the basis of a service supply contract.
Legally, these documents derive from an administration contract, or that contract which has as its object the provision of a specific service.
The civil code, through article 2948, provides for a shorter period of limitation of bills than the ordinary one.
In fact, while the ordinary limitation period is 10 years, for bills this term is reduced to 5 years.
Consequently, the utility manager who wishes to contest the non-payment of a bill (or another aspect of the same) will have 5 years to do so.
