Let’s take a closer look at Bedrock, the new AI tool designed by Amazon for online businesses.
When it was announced back in April, Amazon Bedrock promised to shake the Artificial Intelligence market from its very foundation. Now, Bedrock has been made available, and it already offers 6 AI models for online businesses.
Let’s look at them in this guide.
What is Amazon Bedrock?
Bedrock is a service from Amazon that offers foundation models (FMs) for artificial intelligence programs. Essentially, it allows online businesses to create their own “ChatGPTs”.
With Bedrock, online businesses can improve their customer experience with artificial intelligence using 6 pre-trained models. These models can complete a variety of tasks, from creating in-site chats for customer support to building customized ad campaigns.
Amazon Bedrock, therefore, is not a Large Language Model per se but uses Machine Learning (ML) models pre-trained on vast amounts. This allows large flexibility for customers who want to customize artificial intelligence software according to their APIs.
Foundation models can be trained and customized with tokens. The pricing for each AI model changes according to the amount of tokens used for its training.
What Amazon Bedrock offers: 6 starting models
The first 6 Foundation Models made available by Amazon Bedrock are now online. Here’s how each of them works.
Titan
The most powerful foundation model presented by Bedrock is definitely Titan, a system trained by Amazon Web Services themselves.
Titan can be used for text generation, summarization, semantic search, and receive up-to-date results on user experience on your site. Titan is for the most common AI daily uses and is a direct competitor to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Jurassic
Designed by AI21, Jurassic is great for summarization and information extraction. This foundation model uses artificial intelligence to summarise anything from financial statements to product descriptions.
Thanks to its abilities, Jurassic can also be used for quick customer support, providing answers to clients in an instant.
Claude
Similar to Jurassic, Claude is also a foundation model for quick summarization, though it mostly focuses on legal and programming skills.
Commando
Commando is a foundation model designed by Cohere and specializes in human-like conversations for customer support, as well as text generation for articles and product descriptions.
Llama 2
This foundation is currently not available on Bedrock. Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, is currently training this foundation model on millions of human annotations.
Once completed, Llama 2 will likely be the best-trained foundation model available on Bedrock.
Stable diffusion
Finally, Stable Diffusion is a foundation model for picture generation, enabling businesses to generate entire advertising campaigns in an instant.
Stable Diffusion is already one of the most popular AI tools online. It is one of the most complex picture-generating software, overshadowing other famous tools like Dall-E or Midjourney.
