Here is the ranking of the most energy-intensive appliances: how to save and avoid increases in your bill.

Which Appliances consume the most? A ranking

With the expensive bills and the cost of energy increasing day by day it is increasingly important for families to reduce costs and consumption. In an apartment, by now, there are many appliances that constantly consume energy such as the refrigerator or the water heater, there are the costs of computers and accessories needed to work and the costs of all the appliances that we leave on stand by.

Tricks and methods to save energy have become the order of the day in this time of price soars and increases in the bill. Surely the first method to try is to buy appliances that have a good class and therefore consume little, saving on the purchase of the refrigerator - for example - is not always a good idea to save on the cost of annual energy considering that this will always be attached to the current.

The ranking of household appliances that consume the most

There are some appliances that are undoubtedly more energy-consuming than others, for example the electric oven. This does not always consume the same amount of energy, it depends on the cooking temperature. For example, using the electric oven at 180°C will consume in about 60 minutes 1 kWh (1 kWh = 0.50 euro), however, at 200 ° C it can consume about 1.5 kWh. Another parameter to consider is the mode in which you choose to cook, for example the convection oven will reduce the cooking time and consequently save money.

Among the most energy-intensive appliances we find the washing machine. Also in this case the temperature plays an important role, a washing at 40ºC saves 30% compared to a washing at 60ºC. Among the methods to save on washing machines consumption also avoid pre-washes, rather start the wash and then pause to soak the clothes. The iron, is one of the appliances that consumes the most, in fact this uses about 2000 W, even if once it reaches the operating temperature it consumes less. Obviously, to save money, time should be reduced by reducing the ironing of those items of clothing that can do without it.

Among the household appliances that contribute to the increases in the bill there is also the hairdryer. In fact, unless you use a travel hairdryer, this electrical appliance can consume more than 2000 W and can weigh heavily on your bill if you use it more than half an hour a day.

Is the dishwasher worth it?

A class A dishwasher consumes about 7 liters of water each wash cycle, obviously it also depends on the wash that is carried out and basically the Eco one allows you to save in water consumption. But how much does a dishwasher consume? According to the most widespread statistics to wash the dishes of a dinner for 12 people, about 15 litres of water are used with a class A dishwasher, however, with hand washing 103 liters of water are consumed (88 more). To avoid absorbing a lot of energy, you must abandon drying with hot air: just open the door when the dishes are hot to dry them, if you add a cloth to the door the steam will be absorbed and the dishes will be perfectly dry. The rapid washing programs of the new generation dishwashers consume 1 kWh.
