Brent

Brent is the term used to indicate a very light oil whose name derives from the field discovered in the North Sea in 1972.
The term then passed to indicate all the oil in Europe.

At an international level, there are many types of oil, but at the level of trade, those that have the greatest importance are mainly WTI and Brent. These two types have the greatest volume and attract the greatest interest on the stock market.

Brent, together with WTI, West Texas Intermediate, is the main type of crude used as a reference in world markets. Brent is traded on the London market, while WTI is traded in New York. Its price determines 60% of the oil extracted in the world.
